Road Biking Suggestions

The Lodge is conveniently located at the confluence of two great valleys with many scenic rides available. The Rio Grande trail and frontage roads which head up the Roaring Fork Valley offer a gentle climb to just before the town of Aspen, near Woody Creek, and then begins the steeper incline to Independence Pass. Riders wishing to ride the pass can park at pass gate and climb the 20+ miles to the top. Beautiful exhaustion.

Lodge> Glenwood Springs 11 miles > Glenwood Canyon, Shoshone 17 miles

The Crystal Valley and HWY 133 are not as crowded and have very dramatic topography. A Redstone start and finish is an ideal ride for those wishing to summit McClure Pass.
