In September of 2004 the Segal family purchased the home of Carl and Jill
Martin. After a few years of thought on how to best use the property, the decision was
made to turn the property into a place everyone could enjoy. In the fall of 2006
construction began. After 12 months of hard work, we opened our doors as a Fly Fishing Lodge on the Roaring Fork River as The Lodge
on the Roaring Fork.
Our mission is to continue the pursuit of the perfect day of fly fishing while
expanding recreational conveniences for the active outdoor lifestyle. We hope to
become the Roaring Fork Valley’s premier spot for fly fishing and social gatherings.
Location:
The Lodge sits at 6,180 ft. outside the town of Carbondale, Colorado. Shadowed
by Mt. Sopris (12,953 ft.), we average over 300 days of sunshine a year. The area
receives on average only 40” of snowfall annually; creating a perfect setting for fishing
opportunities almost year round.
In winter months the Roaring Fork Valley opens to a variety of snow sports. We offer ski and lodging packages for the 4 ski areas in Aspen, and Sunlight Ski Area in Glenwood Springs. The valley also offers a total of 90 km of groomed cross-country ski trails in Aspen, and our local groomed trail system at the Spring Gulch maintained by the Mt. Sopris Nordic Council. We can also recommend back county skiing throughout the valley and provide guides for back country ski and ice climbing adventures.
When we return Roaring Fork River fly fishing in the summer, biking is added to our offerings with the Rio Grande bike path, running by our Lodge, stretching from Aspen to Glenwood Springs. Across the road is the Red Hill trail system offering hiking and challenging mountain bike trails.
Whatever the season we have the knowledge and resources to promote any active or leisure lifestyle.
