Rio Grande Bike trail near The Lodge
Cradled in the bottomlands along the Roaring Fork River, the paved Rio Grande bike trail starts in the heart of downtown Aspen and winds its way down the Roaring Fork Valley to Glenwood Springs; a total of 45 miles of paved trails. Take a leisurely bike ride along the paved Rio Grande Trail with direct access from the backyard of The Lodge.

Begin by selecting one of our complimentary cruisers, pick up a bagged lunch, or plan on stopping at one of the many restaurants easily accessed from the trail. Our stretch is one of the more scenic, with bald eagles, osprey and red tail hawks often flying overhead. It is the perfect choice for families with small children, or for those who want to stretch their legs. There are access points near each town along the trail. For those who tire easily, hop on a cruiser and head to downtown Carbondale (just over a mile) for some sight seeing. For the more adventurous, head into Aspen and spend a day taking in the sights and put your bike on the RFTA bus and head back to Carbondale. The opportunities are endless!
